Ce jeu sumérien, dit des vingt cases, ancêtre du Backgammon, retrouvé dans l'antique ville sumérienne d'Ur, date de 2500 avant notre ère, et est l'un des plus anciens jeux de société connus. Ur, située sur l'Euphrate dans l'actuel Irak, était la ville du grand dieu mésopotamien, Nanna en sumérien, Sin en akkadien, dieu de la Lune.
This Sumerian game, said of the twenty boxes, found in the ancient Sumerian city of Ur, dates from 2500 BC, and is one of the oldest known board games. Ur, located on the Euphrates in present-day Iraq, was the city of the great Mesopotamian god, Nanna in Sumerian, Sin in Akkadian, god of the Moon.
