Cette mosaïque du IVe siècle a été retrouvée à Daphné (Harbiye) près de l'antique ville d'Antioche, l'actuelle Hatay ou Antakya, en Turquie. Elle représente le dieu Océanos et la déesse Téthys entourés d'Amours, de dauphins et de poissons. Dans la mythologie grecque, Thétys était une déesse marine de la famille des Titans, fille d'Ouranos et de Gaïa. Océanos était le dieu du fleuve Océan qui encercle la Terre et ensemble ils eurent pour enfants les dieux fleuves et les nymphes marines.

This mosaic of the fourth century was found in Daphne (Harbiye) near the ancient city of Antioch, the current Hatay or Antakya, in Turkey. It represents the god Oceanos and the goddess Tethys surrounded by Loves, dolphins and fishes. In Greek mythology, Thetys was a marine goddess of the Titan family, daughter of Ouranos and Gaia. Oceanos was the god of the Ocean River which encircles the Earth and together they had as children the river gods and the marine nymphs.
